American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine
The mission of this organization is to study cerebral palsy and other childhood onset disabilities, to promote professional education for treatment of these conditions and to improve the quality of life for those with these disabilities in a multidisciplinary environment.

Association of University Centers on Disabilities
AUCD (formerly the American Association of University Affiliated Programs for Persons with Developmental Disabilities) promotes and supports the national network of university centers on disabilities, which also includes Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Programs and Developmental Disabilities Research Centers (DDRC).

Anthropometry Laboratory
Part of the North American Growth in Cerebral Palsy Project, the lab is located at the Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. Children with cerebral palsy often do not grow the same as other children, often being shorter and thinner. The lab studies the growth patterns of children with cerebral palsy to discover what is "just right" for a child with CP and to understand the underlying causes (i.e. nutrition, hormones) of this difference. The lab's website contains several links to resources and has information on the types of equipment they use.

CanChild
This organization utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to maximize the life quality of children and youth with disabilities and their families through high-quality research, education, transference of knowledge into clinical practice and health system levels.

Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Online Community
Affiliated with the University of South Florida/All Children's Hospital, this online community offers many resources including discussion lists, articles, news items and a host of other services and information.

General Clinical Research Center
This GCRC is an NIH-funded, multidisciplinary research facility on the 8th floor of the University Hospital of the University of Virginia Health System, and has been in operation since April 1968. It provides investigators with resources necessary to conduct advanced clinical research. Review the GCRC's approved protocols for conducting research.

Health Evaluation Sciences
The mission of this group at the University of Virginia is to provide a better understanding of the relationships among biologic discoveries, patient characteristics, treatment options, systems and outcomes by using a multidisciplinary approach encompassing biostatistics, clinical epidemiology, health services research and informatics. They have information on statistical computing tools, research outcome evaluation and informatics on their website.

Human Development Center
Located at the School of Allied Health Professions of the Louisiana State University health Sciences Center, the HDC is committed to developing and sharing information about effective services and support for people with disabilities from an interdisciplinary and interagency collaborative angle.

International Brain Injury Association
The IBIA is dedicated to the development and support of multidisciplinary medical and clinical professionals in order to improve outcomes and opportunities for persons with brain injury. Some of the services they offer are educational programs and research support to identify the causes and consequences of brain injury.

ISHIP
The main objective of the ISHIP Group is the study and collaborative research of head injured children. Created in 1996, this group brought together pediatricians, neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, and epidemiologists from Argentina, Brazil, France, Hong-Kong, and Spain to participate in the first study of Head Injury in Children. The purpose of the research is to generate new guidelines for treatment and follow-up of Minor Head Injury in children under 12 years of age.

Motion Analysis and Motor Performance Laboratory
This lab at the University of Virginia is dedicated to the study of human movement as it relates to musculoskeletal function and the documentation of the findings. The lab has three mission areas: clinical, research and teaching, which requires them to combine patient care and information management, scientific and engineering research and innovation in teaching techniques. National Center for the Dissemination of Disability Research
First begun in 1995 as a pilot project grant from NIDRR, this organization is active in areas of research, demonstration and testing of effectiveness of research outcomes, dissemination of knowledge of NIDRR research activities and technical assistance through information sharing and consultation.

National Rehabilitation Information Center
NARIC has been collecting and disseminating the results of federally funded research projects for 20 years, including commercially published books, journal articles and audiovisuals. They receive about 200 new documents per month.

Neurosciences Service Center
The foremost research and treatment center for disorders affecting the nervous system in Virginia, this department of the University of Virginia Health System is providing advanced diagnosis and treatment for strokes, headaches, dementias, movement disorders and brain and spine tumors. Rehabilitation Outcomes Research Center
The mission of the RORC for Veterans With Central Nervous System Damage is to enhance access, quality, and efficiency of rehabilitation services through inter-discplinary research and dissemination activities.

Shriners Hospitals
The mission of the Shriners Hospitals for Children is to provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special health care needs, to educate physicians and other health care professionals, to conduct research that discovers new knowledge to improve the quality of care and quality of life of children and families. Telability
Telability uses real-time videoconferencing and Internet technologies to provide comprehensive, coordinated, family-centered care to children with disabilities across North Carolina. They also offer education, training, and peer support to caregivers.

Based at the University of Michigan, this site takes a very thorough look at each aspect of the grant writing process including preparation, budgeting, equipment, staff needs, and form completion.

United Cerebral Palsy
UCP is one of the largest health charities in America and strives to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Virginia Institute for Developmental Disabilities
VIDD has as its mission to partner with communities to support, respect, and include individuals with disabilities and their families. Using the latest knowledge and research, they work to increase the choices for individuals, improve services, and affect public policy. VIDD includes the LEND program for neurodevelopmental disabilities, and also the University Affiliated Program.
